MINI PLANT-2

Client: TNO

 

The Mini Plant-2 is an ambitious setup for TNO with a focus on CO2 emission reduction. Carya Automatisering developed an operating system for this pilot plant. With this system, CO2 is captured from the gases emitted from industrial processes.

 

A few features:

• NI CompactRIO-based.
• Two operating units connected via ethernet for the mobility of the systems.
• Serial communication (RS-232 and RS-485) with different protocols (Modbus, Vendor-specific).
• Regulation: temperature, pressure, level and flow.
• Touchscreen operation.

ELEKTRA PILOT PLANT

Client: TNO

 

With the Elektra pilot plant, TNO examines how electromechanical processes can be used to obtain valuable chemicals from CO and CO2. Carya developed an operating system for this pilot plant.

• NI CompactRIO-based.
• Serial communication (RS-232) with different protocols.
• TCP/IP communication with SCPI protocol.
• Regulation: temperature, pressure, flow.
• Different operating modes for alarm activation and deactivation.

BIOBED-EBS (10000L)

Client: Biothane, Veolia

 

For Biothane, one of the world’s leading companies specialising in organic purification of industrial waste water, Carya developed the operating system for the 4th generation Biobed-EBS pilot plant for anaerobic waste water treatment.

• NI CompactRIO-based.
• Serial communication (RS-485) with Modbus protocol.
• Regulation: temperature, flow, pH.
• Some sensors and actuators in an ATEX zone 2.
• Configurable process whereby equipment can be turned on or off in a specific order.
